Frequently asked questions.
What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is a process where a trained spiritual director helps you reflect on your spiritual life, offering guidance and a safe space for you to explore your relationship with God. It’s not about giving advice or answers but about deepening your awareness of God’s presence in your life, reflecting on your experiences, and discerning where God is leading you.
Who is it for?
Spiritual direction is for anyone—no matter where you are on your spiritual path. It’s a space for anyone seeking a deeper connection with God, whether you're looking for peace, clarity, or just a place to reflect.
Spiritual direction can be especially helpful if you’re in a season of discernment, working on self-awareness, or wanting to grow in your prayer life. It’s also a safe space for those grappling with doubts about faith, feeling disconnected from the church but still yearning for spiritual guidance, or seeking understanding about your identity and how God sees you.
No matter where you are or what questions you have, spiritual direction offers a pause to reflect, reconnect, and experience God’s presence in your life.
What can I expect during a session?
Sessions are typically scheduled once a month, allowing time for reflection and integration of what you’ve discussed. At the end of each session, we’ll schedule the next one to ensure consistency and accommodate your availability.
What does it cost?
I offer a sliding scale of $50-$75 per session, with the goal of making spiritual direction accessible to all. I understand that financial circumstances vary, and I’m happy to have a conversation to find a rate that works for you. Your first 30-minute session is free, so you can see if spiritual direction is a good fit for you.
Additionally, I welcome donations from those who feel called to help cover the cost of spiritual direction for someone else. If you're in a position to give, your donation can help provide this service to those who may need it but are unable to pay.
Do I need to be part of a particular faith tradition to receive spiritual direction?
Spiritual direction is open to anyone, regardless of your faith background or beliefs. While my practice is rooted in Christian spirituality, I welcome individuals from all traditions, those who may not identify with any specific faith, or even those without a particular faith at all. Spiritual direction is about your unique journey and relationship with the Divine—however you understand God, the Creator, or spiritual presence. My role is to support you in deepening that connection, wherever you are on your spiritual path.
Where are you located?
I offer in-person sessions at a cozy office space in Walnut Creek. For those who prefer to meet virtually, I’m happy to connect over Google Meet. Please note that Wednesday and Saturday appointments are available online only. At this time, I don't offer direction via phone call, but I'm always here to connect in whichever way works best for you!
